Spier initially contacted us in September of 2019 with an enthralling concept for a play garden involving the four elements (earth, air, fire and water). These four elements were to be represented in 4 quadrants and connected by a waterway in the shape of the Fibonacci sequence.

 

Our brief was to bring this concept to life by designing and detailing each quadrant with interactive features to draw the children into the spaces and to connect with the individual elements. We also interpreted the connecting Fibonacci shaped waterway to represent a river bed originating from a waterfall in the mounds of the earth quadrant and culminating in the water quadrant through a raised channel with cascading levels, sluice gates, and a whirling spiral well point.
